Older People's Day

The Government and other supporting groups, under the “Full of Life” banner, have made UK Older
People’s Day the focus of a wide programme of activity, celebrating later life. Numerous
organisations are working together to coordinate a national programme of activities and events
leading up to and around 1st October.

This year the theme is ‘Active Ageing – It’s never too late to get up and go!’

Health and Wellbeing Strategy Refresh Consultation

The Health and Wellbeing Board have agreed the launch of the consultation for the second Joint Health & Wellbeing Strategy for Nottinghamshire.  The consultation will run until 29 October 2017.

Bring along your bike and have it securely marked and for extra security register it to a property database, which links to the Police database.

Comic Relief Launches Thriving Not Just Surviving: Young Men and Mental Health

A new fund has been launched to support vulnerable and disadvantaged young men with mental health problems in the UK.

The new £1.75 million fund is for work with vulnerable and disadvantaged men, aged between 11 and 20 years, who are experiencing mental health problems. Comic Relief is focusing on this age group as 50% of adults who experience mental health problems present symptoms in their teens.
It is expected that approximately 20 grants will be awarded across the UK. Grants of between £100,000 and £150,000 are available for up to three years’ work in the UK.
